What is a Brazilian butt lift?

Our body proportions are defined by different factors. Our genes, our bone structure, the way that our body stocks fat create a unique silhouette for each one of us. The goal of the Brazilian butt lift technique is to add volume and improve the shape of the buttocks without using implants but by transferring fat from other areas of the body such as the thighs, the abdomen, the back or the arms.

Who’s a good candidate?

The Brazillian butt lift cosmetic procedure improves the appearance of the buttocks, reshapes then and, if wanted, adds small or big volume that cannot be obtained through exercising or dieting. A good candidate is someone who wants to icrease the volume of his buttocks and improve their shape without the use of implants. His skin must be firm at the area of the thighs and the buttocks, he must also have some extra fat on other areas of his body for the transfer to be possible. He should be aware that a Brazilian butt lift is not a classic lift surgery and it doesn’t address excessive laxity or skin sagging around the buttocks area so it is not the solution for those who seek a firmer skin but it’s a procedure that lifts the buttocks and sculpts the surrounding areas of the waist and the thighs. Brazillian butt lift can improve the body’s proportions and increase the patient’s confidence.

Facts I need to know

The Brazillian Butt Lift cosmetic procedure involves three basic steps. We first use liposuction to remove excess fat from other areas of the body such as the abdomen, the stomach, the thighs and the lower part of the back. Then, the extracted fat is prepared for the transfer. When it is ready the doctor injects the fat to specific areas of the buttocs to create a more rounded, fuller look. The surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia and the patient is required to spend some time at the clinic, depending on the procedure’s extent. Brazillian butt lift’s results last for many years since fat cells that have been transferred do not move from their new place. However if you want to preserve results you must maintain a stable weight during the years following the procedure.

Recovery Time

After the Brazillian butt lift procedure you may experience mild pain that can be treated with pain medication, and some swelling. You must be very careful during recovery not to sit on your buttocks for the first 2-3 weeks following surgery. After the 3d day following surgery you may sit using a pillow under your thighs and after the first 3 weeks you can start exercising. Patients return to work a week after surgery and the swelling subsides after approximately 6 weeks. By that time results become even more visible.

Doctor’s Remarks

Brazillian butt lift is a procedure that started in Brazil but soon conquered the world. The name of the procedure describes the lift transfer from certain fat deposits of the body to the buttocks. In Greece, like in most european countries, most of the people who seek the help of a cosmetic procedure for a permanent change at the buttocks desier a natural result and do not want to an extremely enlarged buttock. Following the european standards of aesthetics the procedure has evolved to a lipo sculpting procedure which consists of transferring fat from the waist and thighs area in order to have firm, lifted and balanced buttocks. I also have at my disposal the Body Tite technique, an important tool for the lifting and sculpting of the buttocks area. I usually combine Brazillian Butt Lift with Body Tite in order to achieve maximum lift and lasting results. I have been trained to the safe techniques of the BBL procedure in Paris by Dr Levan, Dr Baraf and Dr Zakine.
