Surgery is performed under general anesthesia, incisions are small -smaller than those of a full face lift- and are usually hidden in the hairline, above the ears, in areas that are less visible and there are no incisions behind the ears. The doctor, after considering each case, removes excess skin and fat and elevates the muscles in order to tighten the skin and make the face look 5 to 10 years younger. The stitches or the special surgical clips that are used to secure incisions are removed soon after the procedure. The surgery takes from 1 to 3 hours and the results of a Short Scar Facelift may last from 7 to 10 years, in some cases even longer. Regular protection and care of the skin will give the effects a much longer life.
