It is a very common procedure concerning patients whose nipples point inwards. In some cases the condition is congenital and in others it appears over time, often during puberty when breast are fully developed and is due to shortened mammary ducts. In other cases inverted nipples may occur following multiple child births and breastfeeding. Surgery can correct inverted nipples and give them back their natural look. The doctor chooses the appropriate technique depending on the extent of the problem.
